About Me

DESIGN

With a focus on logo design and music-centric design such as album & single artwork, gig & tour posters, and music social media graphics, my design style leans for a clean, contemporary, and more minimalist-oriented aesthetic for most projects, while my media design (like CDs) is more textural and layered.

If you’re in need of some good design for your brand or band, I’d love to collaborate with you to create the best work possible. Send me an email, I’d love to hear from you!

MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY

I thrive in creativity, be it design, photography, creative writing, or music. If any of these things intersect, I’m feeling quite at home. Then again, I’m an introvert, so if I’m not at home, I’ve probably been kidnapped. Send help. You can catch me in the photographer’s pit of a concert venue, sweating like crazy and contorting myself into weird positions so I can get the right shot. I’m not convinced my final form isn’t a raccoon.

Labels such as Nettwerk, Elektra, Pavement, and 300 have asked me to cover their artists, and because of that I’ve photographed artists including Fitz & the Tantrums, KALEO, The Front Bottoms, Saint Motel and PLUSH. I’ve covered Daughtry, Dirty Heads, Aly & AJ, The Midnight, and many, many others. I’ve no plans to stop until I shoot all the people on my bucket list or keel over from exhaustion or my arthritis, which ever comes first.

I throw a little too much snark & sarcasm into my reviews of concerts in local magazine Nippertown but my editor seems to find it funny. I’m also a published and award-winning photographer, if that’s a thing that matters to you.

If you need someone to cover your gig, I’m your gal. Your stage presence, stage clothes and stage lights already make you look good. I’m just there to capture it so you can put it on your Instagram and reel in the likes. Shoot me an email, and I’ll shoot your photos. They might even win awards. Because you and I, together we’re that good.

If I haven’t convinced you that I’m the photographer for your gig or designer for your job, then take a look at these testimonials I totally didn’t pay my friends to write, and that’ll sure you right up:

“In her work she is very self-assured and with all the competences to back it up, and she goes about things professionally, but infused with her personal brand of sly wit.”

“I would trust Elissa with designing a tattoo for my throat.”

“Elissa does not believe in limitations. She shattered those walls in the womb…that might be slightly creepy.”

EVERYTHING ELSE

If for whatever reason the things above don’t matter to you and you want to know more about me, well all the more power to you. I’m an avid traveler with a never-satiated wanderlust. Seriously, what sane person drives to Alaska from New York twice? Who takes a last minute, two week vacation to Denmark and plans nothing? This girl. I enjoy singing and playing the piano (poorly). Sometimes you can find me learning languages, writing short stories and haikus when the mood strikes, playing board games with friends, and arguing with the same friends on trivia nights. I’m always chugging through an audiobook on my commute. I’m also a fan of cuddling with my two three cats, Jupiter, Loki, and little Zeus, but that’s less of a favorite pastime and more of a permanent state of being as I ascend to crazy cat lady status.

I appreciate you stopping by, and if you chose to read all this, I appreciate that too. I hope to work with you soon.
